In my view you don't close a deal and get a date. You get her e-mail or phone number first, WITHOUT doing anything. Then e-mail her or call her, and set up a time to see her.

Don't call it a date, just do something casual together, so you get a chance to check her out and see if you are interested in seeing her again. You want to qualify her, and make it seem like you are qualifying her, not the other way around.
